Experience Genuine Italian Cuisine

Over sixteen years ago, the door opened and welcomed Pablo Khano into the bountiful style of cooking Italian cuisine. Raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, Pablo embraced the culinary skills of his mother, Maria, at a young age. He learned the traditional preparations of his native land, acquiring the taste and standards of this region know for its international flair.

Trained at the renowned Locanda Venetia in Beverly Hills, Pablo soon became the Chef De Cuisine Leader, taking on the responsibilities and skills of running all aspects of a high profile kitchen.

In 2013 opportunity knocked and Pablo moved to the Monterey Peninsula, first working at Basil Seasonal Dining, and then coming on board as Head Chef at Gusto Handcrafted Pasta and Pizza when it opened its doors. Pablo has become an intricate part of Gusto’s success creating distinctive and delicious dishes with true Italian authenticity.

He and his wife enjoy the camaraderie and beauty of living on the Monterey peninsula and recently added a new family member, baby Ahxel Paolo.

Inspired by the savor and flavors of Italy, Pablo continues to delight in creating the traditional Italian dishes, as well as flavorful, more unique specials, offering our guests a fresh and gratifying dining experience.
