The smells, tastes and sounds of authentic Italian cooking have been a part of Denis’ life since the day he was born. Growing up in the little town of San Zenone degli Ezzelini, Denis watched his Grandpa Gino make pasta and sauces from scratch at their family owned restaurant in Northern Italy. He learned that tasty Italian cuisine and happy customers are a winning combination. Denis decided to carry on this family tradition and open Gusto, Handcrafted Pasta and Pizza, in Seaside.

Denis’ zest for life is contagious and it is his goal to make your dining experience fun, memorable and delicious.

Over Ten years ago, the doors opened and welcomed Pablo Khano into the bountiful style of cooking Italian cuisine.  Raised in Oaxaca, Mexico, Pablo embraced the culinary skills of his mother, Maria, at a young age.  He learned the traditional preparations of his native land, acquiring the tastes and standards of this region known for its international flair.

In 2004 Pablo began training at the renowned Locanda Veneta in Beverly Hills Los Angeles California & Ca’Del Sole in North Hollywood where he worked his way up from a Pasta and Pastry preparation Chef to a Chef De Cuisine Leader taking on the responsibilities and skills of running all aspect of the kitchen. Pablo followed Denis on several of his restaurant proving loyalty and commitment; not only, his perfectionism and unique style impressed owner Denis Boaro and the two became a unique team that portrayed a passion in creating distinctive and delicious dishes. In 2014 Pablo worked at Basil Seasonal Dining andiIn 2015, Denis opened Gusto Handcrafted Pasta & Pizza, and invited Pablo to be a part of this team.  Pablo has become an intricate part of the success of Gusto.  He recently married and he and his new wife are enjoying the comradery and beauty that the Monterey Peninsula has to offer.

Inspired by the savor and flavors of Italy, Pablo continues to delight in creating the traditional Italian dishes, as well as flavorful, authentic and interesting specials, offering our guests a fresh and gratifying dining experience.
